A month now
Since she first appeared
Across the table
In a coffee shop
I never frequent
On a night
That would have
Otherwise blended
Into another yesterday

Radiating
An intoxicating scent
Of hope
Infectious laughter
Wide Wyoming eyes
Plum deeper
Than morphine dreams
And I can't remember
Having ever been hooked
So quickly

A possible remedy
For the silent affliction
Of a one pillow bed
And the certainity
Of never being seen
