Pulpit bleeding fortunes
From the predictably desperate
Spectrum blind to all
But three colors
And a penny blessing
Applauding everything
They already know
While accepting the miracle
Of an apple in reach
As a gift
They cannot give
Themselves
And fervently reacting
To a snake oil salve
Expected to stick
For all eternity
Or at least
Until the next circus
Rolls through town
