For the first time
California is calling
Across state lines
A rainbow of black bears
And ivory snowfields of her
High Sierras
Whispering names
Welcoming the arrival
Of two she has yet to greet
She smells
Our blood type
Right through distant veins
And feels us coming
To ford her swollen creeks
Ignore her trampled trails
Climb to a breathless height
Somewhere above
Her half invested audience
For some candid face time
With a God
Of our American Olympus
