Wonder sometimes how he
Or she could appear
In a final mix
Mostly around the eyes
Would they be ice blue
And beautiful
Or would they adopt
A hazel
Hateful expression
Curious if they might
Ride horses
Or write poems
Hike forgotten trails
Embrace an instilled
Sense of cosmic spider webs
Or would they
Become another monotonous
Dial tone
Resenting our opposition
Is it possible
Boiling blood could become
Another head in the political
Religious and corporate hydra
Dripping shattered promises
From perfectly white teeth
The risk is too great
There is no control over creation
Like the vast majority
They could choose
A well lit path into darkness
And in the end
We would have contributed
To the feeding of the beast
